Lunch time in any school yard is a hive of activity and noise!
Everywhere you look there is a football being kicked, handballs being batted, circles of chit-chat and laughs, books capturing imaginations, climbing, skipping, running…you get the gist.
However, at St Andrew’s Primary School, Ferny Grove, three Year 3 Students decided to spend their lunch break a little differently. They took it upon themselves, with no direction or suggestion, to go on an environmental mission to pick up rubbish.
What a marvellous job they did too. St Andrew’s was so proud of these students that they shared the good news on social media and even captured the attention and praise of our Local Member of Parliament, Cr Steve Toomey. Cr Toomey surprised the students by coming to our School Assembly and presenting them with certificates of appreciation for their efforts. Way to go Emily, Anthony and Koby!
