If you’re always on the lookout for a reason to gorge yourself on delicious eats, here’s the latest: a brand-new festival that will have you eating, drinking, and having fun, all at the local location of Narellan Park at Arana Hills.
The Spring Harvest event as part of the Tastes of Moreton Bay Festival will be taking place on the 3rd September from 10am – 1pm and promises for a fun-filled day out for all. Local food makers will have the chance to set up market stalls and show off their creations to festival goers. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself in the same stall as famous chefs! Alastair McLeod, the man who brought Ready Steady Cook into our homes, and award-winning ‘cake-trepreneur’ Pearly Sprinkles, who many will remember as a contestant from Zumbo’s Just Desserts, will be hosting cooking demonstrations on the day.
Councillor for Division 10, Matt Constance, said this was the perfect day out for the entire family to learn from some amazing chefs and sample both sweet and savoury delights.
‘I urge everyone to grab a picnic blanket and come on down to the Hills District where you’ll find plenty of cooking, markets, and family activities,’ he said.
‘Half of the Spring Harvest will be outside in Narellan Park and the other half inside the Arana Hills Library where you can tour the library’s edible garden and participate in a wide range of family fun activities.’
The kids have the opportunity to indulge their creative sides with cake and cookie decorating workshops…and they will be able to eat them as part of Pearly Sprinkles’ engaging and playful workshop!
