A Sweet Club for Cake Decorators

An update from the Brisbane North Cake decorators club

Members Calista, Fay and Virginia enjoying the Ganache Class

At the October meeting of the Brisbane North Cake decorators club, members were divided into two groups. One group had a lot of fun learning how to ganache a small cake, which they all then took home to their families. It was great to see the new members learning some new skills. The other group worked on completing a replica two tier 1980’s wedding cake, complete with all the fine detail on the sides. This is for the clubs display at their 40th Anniversary lunch at Parliament House on 24th October. It brought back many memories for those in the group who have been decorating since then.

The upcoming November meeting has been changed to Monday night on the 22nd November at the Aspley Hotel at 6.30pm for our annual Christmas get together. For members, it seems like no time since they celebrated last year. Don’t forget your Secret Santa gift.

The Brisbane North Cake decorators are a branch of the Qld Cake Decorators Association and meet on the third Saturday of each month at the Arana Hills Community centre, 291 Dawson Parade Arana Hills, commencing at 1pm. The club tries to keep the business side of the meeting as short as possible so they can concentrate on learning new skills and refining old ones with workshops and demonstrations. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
