The long standing relationship between Brisbane Bunya Lions Club and Mitchelton State High School means students in need are supported to participate in learning and cocurricular activities that without such help, could not.
A $2,000 boost to the Mitchelton State High School Chaplaincy funds, along with a swag of food supplies for the school pantry and donated by the club recently, was gratefully received by Chaplain Larissa Fudge who said the funds will cause a ripple effect.
“What may seem like a drop in the ocean, can become a tidal wave of love, hope and empowerment as it picks up momentum…but it starts with a single drop!” she said.
“I wish to extend a warm and heartfelt thanks to all of the Bunya Lions Club members whose tireless efforts to fundraise and let you all know the difference you all make in our community.
Further, Ms Fudge shared that the funding would be allocated to support students in need across a variety of programs and circumstances.
“The Mitchie High family truly appreciate your efforts and value each and every one of you!” said Chaplain Fudge.
Outgoing President Ms Kay Liddle said it was a privilege to support the students as they are our future leaders and changemakers, and added that every student deserves equal access to resources so they can be successful at school, and in life.
