Celebrate Australia Day with a step back in time

Take a step back in time and celebrate Australia Day 2020, on Sunday 26th January at the Samford Museum.

From 9am to 2pm enjoy a family day of entertainment and take a look back at our nations history at the museum. Parents and kids are guaranteed to enjoy a day loaded with fun and learning activities and displays curated for this special event.

As this is a day about Australia, its past and its future, the museum will not only provide fun entertainment but also incorporate demonstrations and displays about our past. It will be a day to celebrate our wonderful country and our unique attitude to life and living.

Entertainment, activities and demonstrations will include:
• Olden day displays, artefacts and buildings.
• A Treasure hunt and copy-book writing.
• A display of pre-1985 vehicles in John Scott Park.
• Working miniature steam-driven models and a model train.
• Make an article under the guidance of our Blacksmith for a
small fee (cold work).
• Learn about stingless native bees from Bob the Bee-Man.
• Dress up as ‘Swaggie’ and take a selfie on a farm wagon.
• Enjoy performances from the Samford Community Choir.
• Family history research assistance will also be available.

Typical Aussie tucker will be on sale which will include billy tea, fresh dampers, a sausage sizzle, light refreshments and so much more!
