Christmas Gift Inspiration at the Nest Community

With the end of the year fast approaching – and along with it the holiday gift-giving season – what better time to learn a new skill and start creating some handmade items? If you haven’t yet stopped by and visited the Nest Community in the heart of Everton Park, now is the perfect opportunity! 

The Nest Community offers a low-cost workshop program focused on handmade living skills and sustainability. They are proud to offer a variety of different types of workshops throughout the year – there is sure to be something for everyone! Here are just a few of their upcoming workshops: 

Various Christmas and Ornament Workshops $20 – $50

Multiple Christmas-inspired workshops on offer that are perfect for decorating your own home or making handmade gifts for friends: Beaded Baubles, Fabric Wreath, Macrame Angel Ornaments, Embroidered Felt Ornaments

Learn to Sew $35

Our mentors guide you through the basics of sewing using a machine – from preparing the machine to completing your first sewing project. Once you know how and with a little bit of practice, you can sew all kinds of things! Bring your own machine or borrow one of ours!

Learn to Crochet $45

Once you know how to crochet, you can make almost anything! Our crochet mentors teach you how to hold your hook, create basic stitches and follow a pattern to create a granny square – includes a kick-starter pack with instructions, balls of yarn and a crochet hook!
