Community Carols are Back with a BANG!

The much-loved Community Carols are back again to entertain the local community on Saturday 11th December at Mitchelton Park on the grounds of Wests Mitchelton Junior Rugby League Football Club in the Park and everyone is invited!

Hosted by the Brisbane Bunya Lions Club, ‘Carols in the Park’ will kick off at 4pm  and cumulate at 8pm with an impressive fireworks display!

With free entry, parking, entertainment, face painting and rides, this event is perfect for all ages and has been attended by thousands since it began in 2015.

There will be a huge stage with sound and lighting equipment, a fantastic lineup of entertainers including Babushka Cabaret, Second Wind Community Band, The Fabulous Lemon Drops (for the kids!), the Numb Bum’s Ukulele Band, AMMA School of Dance performers and other local artists. And a Christmas Carols event wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa himself, who will be there with all his bells and whistles on!

With easy access to rides, activities for kids and dinner, drink and dessert vendors, visitors are invited to bring along picnic rugs and festival chairs to sit on and enjoy the evening in comfort.

Organisers this year are excited to introduce a fantastic new addition of Christmas Market Stalls that will support local artisans in jewellery, fashion, candles, toys, collectibles, art, plants and other quality items.

Event Organiser Donna Hedges said the annual event promises to be a wonderful family outing for locals.

‘It’s a chance to get into the Christmas spirit with your family and the local community,’ Donna said.

‘We can’t wait to welcome visitors to Mitchelton Park for a fun filled night of food, entertainment and free activities for the kids.’

Lions Club Christmas Cakes and Puddings will be available for sale. This event is proudly hosted by the Brisbane Bunya Lions Club and sponsored by Brisbane City Council, Wests Mitchelton Junior Rugby League Football Club, Tim Mander MP, Echo News, Cr Andrew Wines and Reno Revivals.
