Mirvac has commenced construction on its new $81 million Ashford Residences community at Everton Park in Brisbane, including the creation of a one-hectare eco area alongside popular Kedron Brook.
Civil contractor Pensar has been engaged to start work on the initial stages which will form part of the new Ashford Residences community. On completion, the new community will feature 124 residences, including 43 freestanding homes and 80 three and four bedroom terrace homes, along with the newly restored heritage Queenslander, ‘Murphy’s Dairy Residence’.
The first release of land lots, including a selection with leafy outlooks and direct access to Kedron Brook cycleway, is already more than 50 per cent sold and anticipated to be delivered late 2020 and early 2021 for stage one and stage two respectively.
Work has also commenced on the eco area, which will adjoin the existing Kedron Brook bikeway and waterway. Prior to commencement, the eco area was designed with lush planting and landscaping to appeal to residents and support local flora and fauna.
Ashford Residences is the second residential project Mirvac has commenced construction on in Brisbane this year, starting two months after the publicly listed developer turned the sod on its $77 million Tulloch House apartments – the second stage of the Ascot Green community, being developed alongside Eagle Farm in Ascot.
Mirvac Head of Residential Stuart Penklis said it was a major milestone to start work on a second community in as many months, creating more than 122 construction jobs and delivering quality new housing in a sought-after inner-north area.
“We are thrilled to be taking the next step in bringing this new community to life, particularly in the current environment,” he said.
“Work on Ashford Residences will provide a significant boost for the local construction industry and a new choice for those wanting to build a home within seven kilometres of the Brisbane CBD.”
“The opportunities to purchase land this close to the heart of the city are few and far between, particularly alongside the leafy green Kedron Brook and, as a result, we have been receiving strong interest from local buyers wanting to upgrade to a brand new home in the area.”
Mr Penklis said Ashford Residences would do full justice to the site, with a pedestrian bridge over the eco area ensuring connectivity between the Kedron Brook and new community.
“We feel privileged to have the opportunity to create a community adjoining the Kedron Brook, renowned for its abundant creek-side parks, picnic spots, bike paths and dog-friendly areas,” he said.
“Ashford Residences embraces its unique location, with a number of lots backing on to Kedron Brook so residents can take in the beauty from their own backyard, along with Ashford Residences Club enjoying a stunning outlook over the eco area.”
Buyers at Ashford Residences can choose from freehold lots or those that are part of the body corporate, providing exclusive access to the Ashford Residences Club resort style facilities.
The Club features a carefully crafted design with multiple nodes for future residents to enjoy, including a pool with splash area for children, lounge chairs for relaxation, a gymnasium, a teppanyaki grill, fire pit and barbecue to entertain family and friends, alongside seating areas and a large turfed area.
Mr Penklis said buyers – which included young professionals, families and downsizers – were drawn to the fantastic amenity within the community and in the local area.
“The new dining laneway Park Lane at Everton Plaza, local Woolworths and Coles supermarkets, schools and childcare facilities are all adding to the appeal and convenience for buyers, who love the connected location close to Enoggera train station, bus stops and the airport link,” he said.
