Federal Government Grant Opportunities
There is a number of Federal Government grant programs now open for applications. All schools in Dickson are eligible to apply for funding for local projects through the Local Schools Community Fund.
Local organisations have the chance to apply for up to $20,000 funding through Round 5 of the popular Stronger Communities Program and there is also the chance for organisations to receive funding to undertake environmental projects in our local area as well.
If you would like more information about any of these programs please contact my electorate office on 3205 9977 or email@example.com
What’s Happening in Dickson
The roof has just gone on the university in Petrie and construction is steaming ahead. The first intake of students is expected to be at the start of next year. This is fantastic news for everyone in our community and will give young people in our local area more opportunities to further their education.
The NBN roll-out continues and 95% of premises in Dickson are now ready to connect. I am continuing to work with NBN Co to ensure the whole electorate receives the best possible service.
Please be mindful that there are a number of scammers claiming to be from NBN Co actively seeking to gain access to personal information. Learn how to protect yourself from scammers impersonating NBN Co at nbnco.com.au/scamadvice
We have successfully eliminated many mobile black spots in our community through the Coalition Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program and I am working hard to eliminate the rest. Please let me know of any mobile black spots you’re aware of.
A dangerous intersection in Petrie, the corner of Eucumbene Drive and Narangba Road, has just received federal government funding through the Coalition Government’s black spot program to have traffic lights installed.
If there are any dangerous sections of road or intersections you are aware of either in the Hills District, or elsewhere in Dickson, please let me know so I can submit to the next round of black spot funding. By working together, we can make our roads safer.
