Everton News

A monthly update from your from your State Member for Everton TIM MANDER

As your local state member, I’m here to represent you and am always available to listen and hear about the issues that matter.

Over the past months, I’ve had the opportunity to catch up with many locals at the numerous events around the area: Clean Up Australia Day, Trivia Nights, Charity Days, Trophy Presentations, Anzac Day Services, School Visits and many more.  Thanks to everyone who was involved in these events and I look forward to doing it all again next year.  If you would like to catch up with me, you might like to drop into one my upcoming mobile offices.  For more details, visit my website www.timmander.com.au

New SES Depot

I’m proud to support the new SES depot at James Drysdale Reserve in Bunya.  It was thirty years ago when the Pine Rivers SES started to serve our local community and I want to thank the locals who have volunteered and given their dedication and support to help those in need.

The brand new purpose built facility has opened its doors and is now fully operational.  This major project has included an administration and training building with adjoining shed, a separate nine-bay vehicle storage and an external training hardstand.

If you are interested in volunteering and assisting your local community through SES, please contact 1300 369 003 or visit www.ses.qld.gov.au

Waste Levy

The que for the Bunya Tip

I continue to be contacted by residents and businesses about the new waste tax.  Despite the Government’s assurances Queensland families will not face the cost of this levy, this waste tax will be passed on to residents whenever they hire a skip bin, do a renovation or build a new home.

Every customer of every business will have to pay more.

People have had to wait up to two hours at Bunya tip just to reach the weigh bridge.  This is outrageous!

My colleagues and I will continue to ask the Government the hard questions about this tax – particularly the guarantee that it would not inconvenience Queenslanders or cost them more.

Marquee for Loan

Community groups, schools or sporting clubs are welcome to borrow my 3×3 Marquee for events. Please contact my office to organise the loan.
