CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY
Thanks to everyone who joined me for Clean Up Australia Day at Teralba Park. Despite heavy rain clouds, we had a good turn out and even managed to find a vintage washing machine near the creek! Thanks to Subway at Everton Park for providing us with a delicious bacon and egg roll to finish.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
On the 8th of March, we celebrated International Women’s Day and I wanted to acknowledge some of the amazing women in my electorate. Throughout the week I interviewed Mary-Ann Strelow, Executive Director of Fleet Crew; Imogen Waters, the Youth Parliamentarian for Everton last year; Chi, a local resident whose got some remarkable achievements, Bec Peall who has got quite a record of accomplishments and Roz Fenson from The Nest. Thanks to all of the incredible and inspiring women in my community and across the globe! If you would like to watch these interviews, please visit my Facebook site.
EATONS CROSSING RD & LILLEY RD INTERSECTION
This intersection is dangerous and a major concern for motorists who use it regularly.
Over the last several years, I’ve made numerous representations to the Minister for Transport and Main Roads to address these road safety issues.
Finally, in October 2020, I was advised funding had been allocated and geotechnical investigations will now commence.
The proposed works on this upgrade includes:
Major traffic signal upgrade of Eatons Crossing Rd and Lilley Rd intersection
Upgrades to several intersections with various turn treatments to improve safety
Widening Strathpine-Samford Rd to accommodate wide-centreline treatment
