Everton News – July 2021

Tim Mander MP and Cr Tracy Davis attend the Sorry Day Ceremony at Teralba Park

Sorry Day

The Sorry Day Ceremony held at Teralba Park, Everton Park is getting bigger and bigger each year – in fact, I believe it’s the largest gathering in Brisbane. This is an important annual commemoration to help raise awareness of the Stolen Generations and assist in the process of healing and reconciliation. It was encouraging to see so many schools and community groups represented.

I want to thank the Teralba Park Stolen Generation Support Group for hosting this special event and for inviting me to read the pledge.

Gambling Community Benefit Fund

Congratulations to Everton’s recipients of round 108 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund!

Albany Creek Pony Club, Amparo Advocacy Inc, Help Enterprises Limited and Pine Hills Netball Club were all recently provided with funding to improve the valuable services they offer to our community.

Organisations in the Everton Electorate have now received a total of $904,836.99 from rounds 100-108 as part of this fund.

It is always wonderful to see these excellent community clubs/organisations receiving the support they deserve.

Round 110 is now open and will close midnight 30 June 2021. For more information please visit: www.justice.qld.gov.au/initiatives/community-grants
