Family Fun at the Hills Carnivale

Hills Carnivale is back for another bumper year of live music, kids’ activities and workshops, rides, markets and food stalls at George Willmore Park, Ferny Hills on Saturday, 25 May.

The family-friendly event wraps up the month-long celebrations held as part of Hills Festival, drawing big crowds to the Hills District.

Now in its 27th year, Hills Carnivale returns with all the favourites as well as some breakout musical talent and popular stage shows.

Running from noon through to 7pm, the free event includes a whole host of activities for little kids through to the big kids (and adults!).

Quench your hunger with some delicious food options from the Food Trucks, and explore the market stalls to pick up something handmade or homegrown.

A spectacular entertainment program will be performed by some well-known local acts and children entertainers, including the high-energy Mackenzie Band and Let’s Bollywood Dance, Nickleby the Magician and Bahja Dance Music.

Pony rides and a guinea pig petting zoo? Yes please! Kids will be able to lose themselves in the fun and excitement of Hills Carnivale within the dedicated ‘Kids Zone’. Here, they can enjoy a range of free activities including pony rides, cuddly guinea pigs, face painting, and a kids’ play centre.

Don’t forget to visit the animal farm, where children can make some new furry and feathered friends. Get up close and personal with adorable alpacas, friendly sheep, goats, chickens, ducklings and piglets.

Not only are there a range of free activities, but also a Kids Stage where children can get in on the action, singing and dancing along with the performers.

The Hills Carnivale will finish with a bang, culminating in a spectacular firework display that will light up the night sky at 7pm.

Division 10 Councillor Matt Constance said he wants to ensure this awesome event continues to grow in its reach, appeal and attendance numbers.

‘Last year we were nearly rained out but even that didn’t stop the crowd enjoying one of the best fireworks events you’ll see outside of Riverfire,’ said Cr Constance.

‘It’s a testament to the pride locals feel that we had so many community groups and organisations involved providing activities and supporting this amazing event.’
