The $19.9 million Centre of Excellence at Ferny Grove State High School is open to students on time and under budget.
I had the chance to get an early look at the new centre with Executive Principal John Schuh and 2020 School Captain Natalie Peck and I was blown away. The facilities are nothing short of amazing and represent a terrific return on the investment of taxpayers.
Announced in June 2018 as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s 2020 Ready program, the centre is comprised of 22 new learning spaces, four science labs and a state-of-the-art STEM design studio.
This year there are a record number of students attending Ferny Grove State High and the new centre has been completed to meet this increased need. In addition, a further thirty million dollars in education investments are being made in our local schools this year with announcements on the awarding of other contracts expected shortly.
Investing in education is the cornerstone to the future of our state and I am making sure that our local community receives its fair share.
