Graduating – Scout Style

The Graduation Bridge, designed and built by the Scouts

It has been a busy month at the Enoggera Scout Den from graduations to clean-ups and exploring the local area. There is always something exciting going on at our local Scouts.

Graduating – Scout Style

Recently, two Cub Scouts, Zoe Gallager (who was just awarded the highest Cub Scout Honour of ‘Grey Wolf Award’) and Josh Kirkpatrick, turned 11. Upon reaching this age, youth graduate from the Cub Scouts to the older Scout Section (11yrs-15yrs). To mark this special occasion, the Scouts like to get them there in real style. Putting the many talents and skills the Scouts learn into practice, they designed and built the graduates a fabulous ‘Bridge’ which is a long standing scouting tradition.

Scouts Clean up along Kedron Brook

The Scouts recently enjoyed discovering what is under the Osborne Road Bridge at Mitchelton. They explored the banks of Kedron Brook, looking for and collecting rubbish, skimming stones and learning about how plastics effect our environment and waterways.  They even had their very own Bio-Chemist with them as one of the Rover Scouts (18-25 years) is studying Bio-Chemistry at University and was there to share his knowledge on the subject with the scouts and parents.
