Greece In the Hills

In a wonderful example of purposeful learning, Year 7 students at Prince of Peace Lutheran College at Everton Hills recently experienced ‘Pentathlon’— a day engaged in learning all about the Ancient World. Pentathlon opened with a parade, where the students showed off their costumes, then engaged in a series of learning activities including Olympic Games, Maths-Becomes-Art, and Navigating through the Ages.

In the early evening, students returned with their parents to share their learning and participate in some extension activities including mummification, building a ‘shaduf’ (an ancient device used in irrigation) and constructing an arch. The night was a wonderful opportunity for students and parents to share their learning journey.
