Council is now seeking community feedback on the draft strategy for future off-road cycling opportunities and facilities around Brisbane.
We are fortunate to have biodiverse bushland in the local area, such as the Chermside Hills, Milne Hill and Raven Street Reserve. Locals naturally gravitate to these areas to utilise them for a variety of recreation purposes, including off road cycling which has recently exploded in popularity.
This draft strategy has been developed to create a balance between meeting demand for safe and accessible off-road cycling and preserving our natural habitats.
Last year, residents and community groups were invited to share their ideas on the strategy, which is based on resident feedback. All residents are encouraged to get involved and have their say on the draft strategy. It can be found on the Brisbane City Council website at www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/things-to-see-and-do/outdoor-activities/riding-in-brisbane/brisbane-off-road-cycling-strategy
