Ferny Hill’s local community kindy, Willmore Kindergarten and Preschool, officially opened its new front garden space on the 15th June.
Designed and built by award winning landscapers, Green Survival, the garden is perfect for little explorers. Upon entering the kindy through the beautiful timber arbour, a sense of tranquility falls upon you. The sandstone path leads you up to the bridge that crosses over a babbling brook. Surrounded by rocks and native plants, it’s the perfect place for children to sit and watch the running water. Sheltered by tall trees, children are invited to duck and weave through the garden beds on stepping-stones, unearthing elements of the natural environment. With lush new synthetic grass, the garden is accessible and safe for all to enjoy.
The garden was partially funded as part of the Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Programme, in which Willmore received a $17,500 grant as a contribution to the $27,500 project.
Special thanks is given to Margin Media, The Hills Echo, Arana Leagues Club, Simon Whitehead & Drew Crump Real Estate and those past and current families who contributed to helping Willmore raise $3,000 of the $10,000 needed to complete the garden.
