Fifty five community groups in the Moreton Bay Region have received a $278,498 boost thanks to the latest round of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s community grants.
The community grants program enables groups to grow and enhance their service provision to the wider community.
Funding was offered across six categories, including Community Activities, Community Facilities, Organisational Development, Organisation Equipment, Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) and Community Facilities Interest Free Loans.
There were many successful applicants from community groups within The Hills District and surrounding areas that included:
The Hills and District Chamber of Commerce: $5,000 grant for a development of strategic business plan
The Pine Rivers Croquet Club: $2,000 towards a defibrillator
U3A Pine Rivers Inc: $25,000 interest free loan for the installation of solar panels at the U3A Kallangur Centre.
Samford District Bowls Club: $4,000 towards a flooring upgrade
Samford Sporting Association: $5,542 for remote control lighting for Samford Parklands
