Local Ladies Serving Snags for Kids in Need

An update from the Brendale VIEW Evening Club

Brendale Evening Club ladies at the Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings

All hands were on board at the Brendale Bunnings Sausage Sizzle last month. Once again our ladies came together and rose to the challenge in order to help and support this very successful fundraising day.

It started with perfect weather as the VIEW ladies came along, armed with aprons in hand, and smiles on their faces, ready to serve the hundreds of ravenous Bunnings Customers. We buttered the bread, BBQ’ed the sausages, and placed the drinks on ice. The hungry customers were not disappointed with the ladies BBQing skills.

This Sausage Sizzle is one of many fundraising activities the Brendale View Club has organized for this year. The club sponsors eight Learning for Life students and members fundraise throughout the year to make certain these children have financial support and can access the services needed to succeed in their life journey. Throughout the year we keep in contact with the students through letters and birthday cards. This gives them the support and the knowledge that we are there for them.

The VIEW CLUB (Voice, Interests & Education of Women) is the largest community sponsor of The Smith Family’s ‘Learning for Life’ program, which provides long-term education support for children and young people in need. VIEW has raised more than $40 million and members today sponsor more than 1500 of the program’s students.

Our club has a commitment to have fun and nurture friendships. It is a place where you can meet new friends, enjoy a two course meal, listen to an informative guest speaker, and attend additional social activities such as an annual Fashion Parade. Recently some of our members have enjoyed lunch and a tour of Parliament House. There is also a regular coffee morning on the first Saturday of each month.

We would welcome you to come along to one of our dinner meetings as a visitor to see if VIEW is for you. Dinner meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month arriving at 6.30pm for a 7pm start at Aspley Hornets Football Club, 50 Graham Rd, Carseldine.

Come give us a try – we’d love to meet you!  For further information: please phone our President Shayne on 0409 991 428.
