Making a difference in our community

You may not know this, but a group of local business people and Community Leaders have been meeting on a monthly basis at the Everton Park High School, since 2016.

From humble beginnings, the handful of people at the first meeting has now grown to number over 60.

This group started with a vision of an active group of like-minded business owners marrying with community organisations in order to make a difference. That group is the NOW Business Network.

The members have been busy raising money from Bunnings BBQ’s, Raffles and other fundraising events. In fact, over $25,000 has been raised.  This money has been gifted to local charitable organisations and individuals throughout the local region.

Organisations like Stafford Meals on Wheels, Everton Park High School, The Nest, Every Step Foundation and many more have benefited from the support that the NOW Group has been able to provide.

Much of the gift giving is small things like $300 bursary for students at the school, or Christmas hampers for families, but they have also been able to provide large donations like the Freezer room for Meals on Wheels.

With the easing of Covid Restrictions, the NOW Group is looking to recommence its monthly meetings, which are held on the first Thursday of each month, at the Everton Park High School at 7am.

If you are a local business owner or simply someone that wants to help and be involved with supporting the Everton Park community, then you are most welcome to join in.
