New Samford pool operators, Codie and Rachel Grimsey (pictured to the left) are delighted to have recently opened the gates to the Samford pool as Redfin Aquatics.
Good news travels fast around the area with over 100 swimmers being assessed for learn to swim lessons and squads within the first few days of opening. In addition, more then 30 public swimmers came in to use the pool on the first day.
“There has been an massive welcoming response from the Samford community” said Rachel Grimsey.
“We hope to become one of the many facilities and services that showcase Samford to the greater north west Brisbane region.”
Codie and Rachel are well equipped to take on role as operators of the Samford Pool. With vast experience in swimming teaching and coaching, they also have impressive credentials to match. Codie is a qualified learn to swim instructor as well as a qualified swim and triathlon coach. His wife Rachel is also a qualified learn to swim instructor and an exercise physiologist.
Having lived locally for sometime, Codie has a great passion for this local pool.
“I lived in Cashmere for 20 years and I have many fond memories of the Samford pool, we will be trying our best to keep the great legacy going!” said Codie.
Samford is lucky to have Redfin Aquatics and Samford Swim Club President Kylie Carrett agrees.
“If you’re an elite swimmer in Brisbane, you will know of the Grimsey’s. The arrival of Redfin Aquatics signals the start of a new era for the Samford Stingrays, as we add professional coaching at our home pool to an already strong club culture,” said Kylie.
There is something to suit everyone’s busy lifestyle at the Samford Pool with nine squad lessons per week on offer along with a wide range of learn to swim programs for children as young as three years of age. Aqua aerobics classes are also set to hit pool within the next few weeks.
