The Gap Ward Community Networking Evening
On Wednesday 6th November 2019 Deputy Mayor Councillor Krista Adams, Chair of Public and Active Transport, Economic and Tourism Development Committee and Councillor Steven Toomey hosted a free community networking and information evening at The Local Larder & Wine Bar at Ashgrove West.
This was an opportunity to connect with local community and learn more about what Council is doing to support residents, community groups and business in the ward.
If you would like to join council’s business event mailing list to be kept up to date on all our free events and initiatives, please sign up to the newsletter via www.brisbane.qld.gov.au and search ‘Subscribe to Business in Brisbane.’
This event was supported by the Lord Mayor’s Community Fund via The Gap Ward Office.
Keperra Bushland Consultation
I would like to thank the residents who took part in the consultation process and provided feedback for the Keperra Bushland improvements, I look forward to delivering this project in the new year. This project is part of Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner’s commitment to create more to do and see in our suburbs whilst enjoying our clean, green environment.
The Year That Was 2019
We have some amazing community groups in the ward that are continually contributing to lifestyle and leisure of suburbs. Throughout the year I have enjoyed meeting and working with many of these groups and I would like to congratulate the contribution of the residents who put their hands up to give their time to the schools, the sporting clubs, the historical societies, seniors groups, Meals on Wheels, Save Our Waterways Now, Men of The Trees and local bush care groups. Their input is invaluable and I thank each and every one of them that give their time to make our ward one of the best in Brisbane.
Over the Christmas break the office will be closed from Friday 20th December 2019 until Monday 6th January 2020.
On behalf of The Gap Ward team and myself, I wish you all a safe and peaceful Christmas and a very happy 2020.
