Keperra Lookout Consultations

Thank you to the residents who came to the community consultation sessions to ‘have your say’ on improvements to Keperra Bushland. Your feedback will form the updated draft plan for review in the near future. I will be holding more community consultations to view the draft plan and look forward to your input.

Lanita Road Ferny Grove

Work is progressing to upgrade the footpath along Lanita Road.  $127k was allocated in this year’s budget to reconstruct and widen the footpath to provide improved connectivity between Ferny Grove West and the Ferny Grove Train Station.  This work is part of my ongoing commitment assist in alleviating congestion on our roads.

Free off-peak travel for seniors

Brisbane City Council is making it easier for Seniors to get out and about and enjoy our City by providing free off-peak travel to Senior go card holders on Council buses, City Cats and ferries. A significant boost in off-peak patronage has been recorded since the implementation of the initiative in October 2019 and I would like to thank those who have taken advantage of the program so far. To be eligible for free off-peak travel, you must hold a valid senior go card. More information via www.brisbane.qld.gov.au.

First Home Owner Remission Scheme

Brisbane City Council has introduced a ‘First Home Owner Rates Remission’. This scheme provides a one-year 50 per cent rates discount for first home owners buying or building a new or established home. To find out if you are eligible for a maximum of $1000 over a 12 month period visit www.brisbane.qld.gov.au

Lord Mayor’s Seniors Christmas Parties

The Lord Mayor’s Seniors Christmas Parties have been a wonderful annual tradition in Brisbane for almost 20 years. Brisbane’s seniors are invited to enjoy the festive season by attending one of the 11 shows held over five days in Brisbane City Hall from Monday 2 December to Friday 6 December 2019.  

Tickets cost $5 and are on sale until 6 December 2019. You can purchase tickets through QTIX by phoning 13 62 46 or at Brisbane City Hall, all concert details at www.brisbane.qld.gov.au
