St William’s Primary School Grovely has welcomed their new Principal, Roycelyn Wilden to their school. With over 30 years experience in the Education sector we recently caught up with Roycelyn to ask her a few questions.
Are you a Brisbane Local? I was born in Mackay, raised in Rockhampton and have taught and lead in schools across Qld, Canberra and NSW. My last school as principal was at St Ignatius School in Toowong.
Any special talents or skills you would like to share? In my earlier years I always ran a speech and drama studio on weekends so voice and speech development is important to me, I also used to oversee early literacy courses and presently I play the piano, do yoga, love reading and walking in my leisure time
Do you live locally? My husband, Wayne (also a leader in the education sector) and I have moved to Hamilton as we are now empty nesters – we have two children, Ruth 26 who is an organizational psychologist in Melbourne and Patrick 25 who is a pilot based in Darwin.
Roycelyn adds that she has felt warmly welcomed by staff, students and parents at St. Williams.
