Rehearsals have begun for The Hills Players

The Hills Players are now into rehearsals for their first production for 2019.

The first production will consist of three, one act plays, two of which have been written by Brisbane writer, Hugh O’Brien. Hugh is currently working with The Hills Players as these plays are still ‘works in progress’ and they will be holding their World Premieres here in the Hills District. The plays are called ‘The Ineligible Bachelor’ and ‘The Pram’ by Hugh and ‘Sure FM’ by Michael Jeffery.

‘The Pram’ was inspired by an old family heirloom pram and the play moves from 1919, through the turbulent 60’s to the present. In post World War I, the pram holds the precious granddaughter of Bridget but in 1969 Gladys is looking after her little grandson who’s father went through the Vietnam war; until finally that same grandson and his sister find that Ancestry.com unlocks the mysteries of the past generations and the pram comes into it’s own again.

‘Sure FM’ is set in a Community Radio station where there is a power struggle going on for a favoured time slot, while ‘The Ineligible Bachelor’ takes a behind the scenes look at the current ‘reality’ TV shows.

These plays will be staged at 7.30pm on the 3rd, 4th, 10th & 11th May at St Matthew’s Church Hall, Church Road, Mitchelton.
