It’s not every day that you stumble across an actor in our community—especially one who is in their first year of primary school!
Remidee Hayes, Stafford Heights’ favourite little pocket rocket, has already had her fair share of the limelight.
Before Remidee could even walk, she had crawled her way onto Australia’s billboards—a product of the TV commercials she featured in as a baby. One of these commercials was for Vaccination Matters, which also appeared in pamphlets and the Brisbane Child Magazine. Being no stranger to cameras, it is not a surprise that Remidee has been a part of some short films, including A Godless Country, in which she played the main character. More exciting yet, Remidee’s first feature film, Occupation: Rainfall is set to hit cinemas later this year.
Occupation Rainfall, an Australian-produced Sci-Fi blockbuster, tells an intergalactic tale of willpower and resistance, as survivors of an alien invasion fight for their planet. Remidee plays a village child, and is working alongside Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians), Dan Ewing (Home and Away), Daniel Gillies (The Originals, Vampire Diaries), and many more familiar faces. Stay tuned for the film’s upcoming release!
But there is more to Remidee than simply her acting skills. The rising star is also a beauty queen in pageants, a red belt in karate, a ballet, jazz and tap dancer at Conroy Dance, a pianist, and a swimmer. She is more than just a triple threat; Remidee is the whole she-bang! And being only a prep student from Grovely State School, these are all mighty big achievements.
However, despite having such a vast array of hobbies, acting still holds the dearest place in Remidee’s heart. She admits that she loves seeing herself on TV and adores all the attention and support she gets from our community. So, watch this space!
