Residents Association Prepares for 2019

Formed just over 12 months ago, the Ferny Grove & Upper Kedron Residents Association (FGUK RA) has made strong headways into representing their members on local planning and other community issues.

FGUK RA represents collective community concerns and suggestions about matters impacting the liveability and sustainability of Ferny Grove and Upper Kedron. The Association is administered by an elected Management Committee and there are currently 115 members in the FGUK RA.

The Residents Association will be holding its AGM at 2pm on Sunday 10th February at the Ferny Grove Bowls, Sport & Community Club on Tramway Street Ferny Grove.

‘All residents are welcome to attend the AGM,’ said President, Gareth Jones.

‘We will be providing an overview of the Association’s activities during 2018 and also formalising Committee membership for 2019.’

Since forming, the Management Committee has engaged proactively with government, council and developers on a number of topics, including the controversial FGUK Neighbourhood Plan, Mt Nebo Road connection and the Ferny Grove Transit Oriented Development (TOD).

‘I’ve personally enjoyed being involved with the Association. It’s a great way to meet new people and get involved in shaping the inevitable changes that are taking place across our suburbs,’ he said.

The FGUK Residents association is seeking new members and new management committee representatives. Application and nomination forms are available from their website.www.fguk.org or email communications@fguk.org
