Tax Matters December 2019

From TaxArana, your local accountants

Christmas / New Year Holiday hours

The TaxArana office is closed from Monday 21 December 2019 and reopens on Monday 13 January 2020. If you haven’t yet lodged a return, there is still time to book your appointment in before we close for the year.

Drop off point for Christmas Hampers

TaxArana is again an official drop off point for non-perishable food for Picabeen Community Centre.  Each year Picabeen puts together hampers of food for those vulnerable and in need in North Brisbane suburbs. If you’d like to donate, just stop by the TaxArana office during the week and we will deliver your donations to Picabeen.

Community Breakfasts

To ensure the community breakfasts are easily accessible to those who need them, we are looking at moving the breakfasts to the Picabeen Community Centre at Mitchelton in the new year.  Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for more up to date information.

Renting out your home over the holidays?

The ATO announced they are specifically targeting AirBnB hosts for tax audits. Don’t get stung this tax year, make sure you declare ALL income and keep all documentation.

Keep Your Receipts!

Make sure you continue to keep your receipts as proof of all business related purchases over the festive period. Make an appointment with TaxArana in the new year to go through your tax preparation to make sure you are on track.

On behalf of the TaxArana team, we would like to thank The Hills community for supporting us, and all the charity drives we have run over the past 12 months.
