Thanks to our amazing Hills community the Ferny Hills State School Parents & Citizens’ Association has raised more than $8300 for the school from its trivia night and raffles! Held on Saturday 23 October, this was a party – sorry, we mean fundraiser – for professionals! Wowzers, did people put in an effort! Themed Disney, Pixar and Marvel, people came dressed as everything from Snow White to Buzz Lightyear to Alice in Wonderland to pirates and more! In a truly impressive display, everyone went ‘all out’ with costumes and table decorations.
Even more impressive was the more than $8300 we raised for the school through pre-sold raffle tickets and auctions and games on the night! What an effort!
This money will go towards the upgrades of kids’ playgrounds, starting with a new nature playground and upgraded prep playgrounds in 2022, before moving on to other playgrounds at the school. The P&C is also funding other necessary items for the school, like home readers and literacy, ICT and STEM programs.
The P&C isn’t just about fundraising: it’s about building a school community. Thank you to our amazing local business sponsors who contributed prizes to raise funds, and all of those who got into the spirit and contributed to a great fun night and demonstrated a tremendous community spirit. BRAVO!
