Whipping up a wonderful workshop

Members watching Sue doing palette knife sculpting

Members of The Brisbane North Cake Decorators were recently treated to a fabulous workshop.

The guest demonstrator, Sue, was from another branch of the Qld Cake Decorators Association and showed the ladies how to make flowers, leaves and scenery on cakes using a palette knife and a soft medium like buttercream to sculpt the shapes. They then all had a go themselves, some with more success than others!

The Brisbane North Cake Decorators are a branch of the Qld Cake Decorators Association and are a not-for-profit organisation. They foster the art of cake decorating and love sharing their knowledge with each other.

Members meet at the Arana Hills Community Centre, 291 Dawson Parade Arana Hills on the third Saturday of each month, commencing at 1pm.  Afternoons are busy usually with a workshop or demonstration of some particular technique, afternoon tea, a very short business meeting and usually lots of laughter! New members – experienced or new to cake decorating – are always welcome. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
