The Women’s Shed at Ferny Grove is close to launching!

The steering committee of the Women’s Shed at Ferny Grove has been hard at work on all of the legal processes required to establish the Women’s Shed as a viable community organisation.  Documents of Incorporation have been approved and the committee is developing procedures for running the Women’s Shed.

Community interest in this project is very high, with 48 women listed as the first Women’s Shed participants and another 70+ on the wait list.  Participants will be able to access all the tools available at the Shed after a short period of induction for safety purposes.

Women will be able to work on their own projects in a supportive and social environment.

The local community can expect to see a sharp increase in DIY projects, home improvements, furniture repair and wildlife boxes once the Women’s shed is open.

Although the ladies have access to ample tools, they are seeking small supplies of usable timber. If you have a shed bulging with old timber suitable for small projects and wood turning and you are happy to part with some, they will be ready to turn it into something useful or decorative.

If you have any questions you can contact the committee at theshedatfernygrove@outlook.com
